Why I admire Marya Hornbacher
I love her style of writing, besides my personal attraction to the subjects, she writes in a fresh, blunt manner. She’s straight-forward, hide-nothing inn her writing. She writes exactly what she means. Her command of langage – I love it. And personally, these subjects are strong for me. Her book “Wasted” is the most powerfully written book I know. It explains so completely what it is like. I applied what she wrote about eating disorders not only to my own experience with them, but towards other addictions, like mine to self mutilation – they are very closer subjects. And “Center of Winter” is powerful and wonderful in it’s own right. It’s different than Wasted, but her great writing ability comes through as well. I loved the story – laughed cried… the ending was so… unexpected. Marvelous. I can’t wait until her next one comes out! i ADMIRE HER FOR LIVING, FOR WRITING, AND FOR TELLING OUR STORIES.
